He is Ph.D (Soil Microbiology), M.Sc. (Honors) Soil Science, B.Sc. (Honors) Agric. Dr. Masood Ahmad Shakir has 31 years of experience in the area of Soil Chemistry and Soil Bacteriology. He is also a well known writer. He wrote: The Use of Saline Water for Crop Production. An FAO publication was reproduced and distributed at large for capacity building of soil and crop experts in Southern Punjab. He wrote an abstract publication of the 5th International Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate change. He is also author of Feeding 9 Billion Through Sustainable Agriculture; Biofertilizer, Human and Ecofriendly Fertilizers; Booklet on the Screening of crop plants against salinity-sodicity;  Urdu leaflet “ Fasloon ke Jaraseemee teekey” ; Urdu pamphlet “Biofertilizer” Mahool or Insan dost Haytiate Khadeen”; 70 Year review of Pakistan Agriculture an Urdu article published in September 2017; 70 Year Story of Declining Pakistan Water Resources an Urdu review article published in October 2017; 70 Year Story of Declining Pakistan Water Resources an Urdu review article published in October 2017. Dr. Masood Ahmad Shakir is Life member, Soil Science Society of Pakistan; Life member, and Secretary General, Pakistan Agricultural Scientists Forum; Member Pakistan Society of Agronomy; Member “Fertilizer and Allied products Standardization Committee” PSQCA; Convener “Pakistan Bio fertilizer Forum”  Member FAO Task Force on 4R’s of Fertilizer; Editor “ The Journal of Agriculture and Plant Sciences” ; Chief Editor, Monthly Nawa-e-Kisan Lahore.
